Intraphex Prodigy Pro

Intraphex has revamped its Prodigy Pro Android Mirroring car radio interface to include more features.

The upgrade marks the first product update from Intraphex since it was purchased by AAMP of America in September.

The new Prodigy Pro now uses a dual zone system that can send Netflix or YouTube video to the back seat while the driver navigates in the front.

The Prodigy Pro lets you mirror apps and video from your Android phone onto your factory radio screen and control them with the factory radio controls for a “tablet-like experience.” It uses MIRACAST to achieve this.

It also uses its own embedded Android OS (JellyBean 4.3) and it includes built-in WiFi and  works with an optional 3G dongle to provide an Internet connection to the car radio.

Users can download any app from the Google Play store and access Pandora, Spotify and Netflix. Users also get navigation, handsfree calling and live weather updates.

The device is customized for many different car makes including Nissan, Infiniti  and the entire General Motors MyLink line, plus MyFord Touch, Volkswagen and Audi vehicles.  It also works with aftermarket radios, and it includes Bluetooth, 4GB of internal FLASH memory and an SD card slot to expand memory to 32GB.

Intraphex is also announcing at CES a new Prodigy 1.2 Plus. It adds voice recognition to the brand’s navigation add-on kits that are customized for various vehicles.  The new versions are “100 percent plug and play” and built to automotive grade.  They also permit the addition of a back up camera and will show active guidelines that shift along with steering (so you know what is directly in the car’s rear path).
