Shopatron, the Internet service that lets dealers fulfull a supplier’s web sales, said order volume (number of orders) on Cyber Monday soared 330 percent compared to last year (in same “store” sales). Sales climbed 66 percent for car audio companies using Shopatron’s service for Alpine, JL Audio, Kicker and others.
Shopatron said, “In large part, we attributed these record-breaking sales to the rise of mobile shopping (increased 54% over last year) and free-shipping promotions (tied to 37% of all orders).”
The service recommends that car audio companies pursue the free shipping strategy for the holidays.
Shopatron added, “”We also recommend bounce-back campaigns as a way to capture heavy holiday traffic, and to get customers coming back in slow months after the holiday.” An example of a bounce-back campaign is “buy $100 in merchandise and get a $25 gift card to spend later.”
Studies show that recipients of the gift card typically spend 40 percent more than the value of the card.
For all categories, Shopatron’s sales rose 52 percent this year. The service represents over 1,000 suppliers and retailers. Other car audio suppliers include Arc Audio, Massive Audio, and Hifonics.
