Here’s a look at the new Connected Car Demo rooms that Car Toys, Seattle rolled out recently in all of its 50 stores.
The rooms’ displays include panels to demonstrate apps, live traffic and other services with different types of live phones. Each demo room has full wireless connectivity.
Consumers can view how to launch apps from the car, and use driver safety apps including navigation. They may see hand on, how to use Facebook and Twitter via voice control.
Car Toys said in July it was investing millions of dollars on creating the demo rooms as the category is growing in popularity and many of its customers are interested in connecting their smartphones to their car radios.
Jim Warren, Senior VP Merchandising said the demo rooms were gutted down the studs to accommodate the new displays. He called the Connected Car a category that can help grow the car audio industry and said the sector is only in the early stages of technology advancement with plenty innovation to come.
Car Toys is the largest independent car audio retailer in the U.S. with locations in major Western cities including Seattle and Spokane, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Denver, Colorado Springs and Ft. Collins, Colorado; and Houston and Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas.
