General Motors will add Siri Eyes Free integration to 6 more cars, joining the already Siri-equipped Chevy Sonic and Spark. With Apple’s Siri voice assistant, users can verbally ask the car radio to place phone calls, play songs, listen to and compose texts and make or change calendar appointments.
The feature will now be available on the 2014 Chevy Camaro, Cruze, Equinox, Malibu, SS and Volt, said GM on Monday.
The car radio will connect to a user’s iPhone running iOS 6 or iOS 7 via Bluetooth and use the steering wheel buttons to launch Siri. With the system, users need not look at the their phone and may keep their eyes on the road.
GM said it expanded Siri after it met with success in the Sonic and Spark. “The response to Siri Eyes Free integration in Chevy Sonic and Spark from our customers has been remarkable,” said Chris Perry, Chevrolet vice president of U.S. Marketing.
