CORRECTED STORY:      Arc Audio will introduce its first subwoofer design under its XDi product series in Q4.

The new subwoofers come in 10- and 12-inch sizes, and in dual 2- and 4-ohm configurations.

The new subwoofers place the key focus on sound quality and overall performance “rather than unnecessary pricey add on’s for cosmetics,” said Director of Marketing Fred Lynch.

The woofers include all-new voice coils that are tempered in a multi-stage process to increase reliability and handling  “…making it more resistant to potential high volume and abusive situations,” said Lynch.

The subwoofers are optimized for small and reasonably sized sealed and ported enclosures.

Power handling is rated at 200 watts RMS for the 10-inch models and   250 watts RMS for the 12-inch.

The XDi subs  include light-weight pulp fiber non-pressed treated cones, and progressive Nomex spiders.  They use dedicated CNC single cut Y30 motor structures, reinforced stamped steel baskets and tuned motor venting typically found in higher priced woofers, said Arc Audio.

Models include the XDi 10D2, 10D4, 12D2, 12D4  Street prices range from $119 to $139 and will be available beginning of Q4.
