Aftermarket Car Audio TV Ads Start in September

A new series of TV ads will release next month promoting the car audio aftermarket under the tag line “You don’t have to buy a new car to have new car technology!”

The Mobile Electronic Specialists of America (MESA) buying/marketing group is launching its first series of car audio ads featuring live actors. In the past it offered animated singular ads.

The new ad series includes four 30-second spots on the topics of ‘using a smartphone with the car radio,’ navigation, backup cameras and rear seat entertainment.   A fifth ad on remote start will be added later in the year, said MESA Executive Director Ryan Gunter.

MESA members receive the ads at no charge.  They may then voice-over the ads and add their own name (cable companies help you do this at no charge).

“This is the first time we’ve done this with actors and the first time in a themed series.  If you look at the ads from the [larger] companies they have multiple commercials with the same theme. This gives our members the appearance of being a larger company,” Gunter said.

The ads will debut at the MESA summit meeting in Austin, TX September 10 and 11.

The training sessions at the summit will include a seminar on how to effectively buy media in your market.
