Ed Sachs, the former President Emeritus of Pioneer Electronics Mobile Electronics Group and recent President of Dual Electronics’ Sales Division is leaving Dual at the end of the month, following the close of a two-year contract with the company.
Sachs will join a California start-up in a field unrelated to car electronics but he will continue his industry consulting firm, Associate Marketing Partners, “in case anyone finds the need for a brilliant, creative consultant,” he said.
Sachs said, “I still love the industry, I think there’s a lot of growth opportunity yet to be had. It’s a shame the economy is in a weak recovery, otherwise we’d be further along.”
Sachs also remains in politics as a Commissioner for the City of Mission Viejo Investment Advisory Commission.
Dual Electronics President and CEO Jim Braun said, “We will miss Ed’s leadership at Dual. Ed has been instrumental in assembling the current professional sales force that has produced market share gains in car A/V and marine audio.”
Sachs retired from Pioneer in 2009 after spending most of his 30 years in the industry at the company. He presided over a period that led Pioneer to its top sales performance and he has been a key industry figure. In 2008, he helped launch the 12 Volt Summit, which sought to unite the car audio industry in a single consumer awareness campaign.
