George Aratani, who along with Bill Kasuga co-founded Kenwood Electronics, died Tuesday at 95 of pneumonia.
Aratani, a survivor of the Japanese internment camps during World War II, also founded the Mikasa dishware firm (which was posting $400 million in annual sales when it was sold in 2000). Aratani went on to be notable philanthropist.
