Alpine introduced at CES a new AV receiver with MirrorLink and with Apple Siri Eyes Free.
The new ICS-X7HD can launch Siri Eyes Free from a button on the car radio. Users may then send texts by voice, ask for directions, call up contacts, and perform other Siri functions by voice command through the car stereo system.
Alpine is planning to roll out Siri Eyes Free to other car radios in the future, it said Tuesday at CES in Las Vegas.
The new ICS-X7HD also offers MirrorLink, for mirroring apps (and controlling them from the radio) from an Android phone.
The new car AV radio is CD-less and has a 7 -inch screen, Bluetooth, and is Sirius XM ready. It also includes Aha radio capability when used with an iPhone (for Facebook and Twitter updates and access to 30,000 Internet radio stations).
The device also offer Pandora control for iPhone and Android and will ship in March at an estimated street price of $599.95.
