A company called Mobile Enhancement Specialist of Cocoa Beach, FL is introducing its first product—a Bluetooth passive keyless entry (PKE) system that works with any car and any Bluetooth phone, it says.

One of the few Bluetooth PKE systems available, says Mobile Enhancement Specialist, the device sells for about $200 to $300 installed.

In includes a module, a single 7-pin harness, a programming switch and a status LED.  The antenna is built into the device.

With the new device, entering the car is completely automatic, after the phone is paired with the system for the first time.  “The unlock/lock process is entirely automatic, requiring no input from the consumer,” said Mark Cann of Mobile Enhancement Specialist.

The module has been certified by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group and has been tested for the past year, said Cann.

Prior to launching his new company, Cann ran a car audio store for 8 years close to St. Louis called Unique Audio. “I learned what type of products customers were comfortable with.  In 2008 I exited retail, but wanted to pursue the product side of 12-volt and Bluetooth keyless entry was always a favorite.  It’s a niche product, but it appeals to a large number of people, not just people into car audio electronics,” he said.

The company is selling direct to retailers and may hire manufacturers reps in certain markets.
