Alpine Electronics announced the untimely passing of its long time sales rep Bill Whitehouse, who had served as a senior sales rep for the company since 1999.
Whitehouse was a well-known fixture among Northern California retailers, whom he served diligently, wining Alpine’s Sales Rep of the Year award in 2010 and 2011, and becoming the first person at Alpine to win the title for two consecutive years. His territory extended from California’s Bay Area up to the Oregon border.
Alpine did not disclose Whitehouse’s age, but we believe, he was in his 50s. Alpine did not disclose the cause of his passing.
Whitehouse began his car audio career working for Al & Ed’s Autosound and also held sales rep positions at AM Merchandising and Clifford Electronics before joining Alpine.
“Bill was a hard-working, friendly, and caring sales rep,” said Joel Kaplan, Alpine’s western regional sales manager and Whitehouse’s boss for 13 years. “He was dedicated to his retailers, and he was always there to support them with their short-term sales needs and long-term business goals. He was a good person who will truly be missed by the Alpine family.”
Whitehouse is survived by his wife Gail and son Aaron. A remembrance service for Whitehouse was held last week in Gilroy, CA.
