Omega Research has expanded its remote start and security line, now offering its first one-way remote start/security combination system that can operate up to a mile away from the car (model AL-1750-EDPB).
The Audiovox brand also announced its first one-way keyless entry/remote start system with one-mile range (model RS-450-EDP+)
A third new Omega model is a one-mile, color 2-way, alarm/remote start system (AL-2050-EDPB).
All the systems use 900MHZ, spread spectrum technology. Omega claims its systems are more secure than competitor’s fixed code systems because spread spectrum technology uses code hopping encryption.
The color, two-way AL-2050-EDPB is the update from last year’s AL-2030-EDPB. It adds a more attractive controller. All three of the new remote start systems also now have new dual data ports so you can plug in accessories (like an iDatalink port). They also have remote activated low temp/low volt auto start.
Two of the units can also work with motorcycles through a new low current mode.
Shipping is in October.
