OEM (factory systems in new cars) are expected to account for 74 percent of the total market this year.
In 2008, the split was 48 percent aftermarket and 52 percent OEM, said a CEA presentation during KnowledgeFest.
On a better note, the wholesale price of a head unit will actually see a slight uptick in 2013 to $81, from an expected$80 this year, forecasts the CEA.
But the average wholesale price of a head unit has fallen from $95 in 2007 to $80 in 2012.
