Audiovox Electronics announced at KnowledgeFest that it will deliver within 45 days a new, sleeker headrest/monitor system for back seat entertainment.
The new design reduces the need for oversized headrests to accommodate the monitor and electronics. The system also uses LED backlighting for a more vivid picture and to lengthen the life span of the screen, said Audiovox.
The replacement headrests also now match the shape and size of the factory headrests as well as matching the color, grain, stitching, trim and material. They come in different monitor and DVD configurations and work with an optional “Game Pack” that includes a plug-in game module with 54, 32-bit video games.
The HR7012 Slim Series includes two 7-inch DVD monitors with adjustable tilt screens and a USB input with charging. Also included are a full band 100-channel wireless FM transmitter, and a user-accessible AV input. The custom headrest system covers over 1,000 vehicle types at a suggested retail price of $1,549.99.
