A Kindle Phone may be in the works according to Bloomberg. Amazon is developing a phone to compete with Android and iPhone devices, said two Bloomberg sources including one, which said the phone will be produced at Foxconn, which helps make the iPhone.
In car audio & electronics alone, Amazon sales in 2011 hit $620 million, up from $570 million the year prior, making it the number two seller of car audio, behind Best Buy (and ahead of Walmart), according to the TWICE Top 25 Car Electronics Retailers.
Back in November, a Citigroup analyst, Mark Mahaney, also reported that Amazon is planning to release a smartphone.
Like the Kindle Fire, Amazon’s new tablet, a smartphone would provide easy access to Amazon’s content including on-line shopping.
