Phoenix Gold (Aamp of America) began shipping on Wednesday its new Elite-Series of car stereo components first unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
The new line includes 3 amplifiers: the Elite.1, Elite.2 and Elite.4 that feature audio components typically found in audiophile home systems such as Burr Brown op-amps. The company says it is the “finest sounding and best looking amplifier series Phoenix Gold has ever built.”
Burr Brown op-amps provide ultra-low distortion/noise and high-speed/bandwidth for maximum musical resolution. The amps also include Monolithic signal capacitors, dual-package Sanken output transistors and overbuilt dual unregulated power supplies with handwound power supply transformers. Their aim is to provide “seemingly unlimited frequency response and smashing dynamic range.” said Phoenix Gold.
The amps are rated at 3,200, 1,000 and 1,200 watts respectively.
We’ll post the price as soon as Phoenix Gold gets back to us.
