Best Buy CEO Brian Dunn told showgoers at Mobile World Congress that BestBuy.com had 1 billion visits last year and its dot.com orders and units are up 33 percent.
Also, Dunn said of mobile phones purchased on BestBuy.com, 77 percent of those orders are picked up in a store on the same day, and 63 percent of those within 12 hours.
The comments came in Barcelona, Spain, as Dunn shared the stage with execs from eBay and IPG.
Best Buy said it now sells 25 million devices worldwide such as smartphones, tablets and ultrabooks that are “connected.” It expects the number of connected devices it sells to double within the next five years, “making us the largest ‘enabler’ of connected mobile devices in the world,” said Dunn.
