MTX showed 6 new car Pro Audio speakers at CES last week under the RoadThunder extreme line. The series is MTX’s first car Pro Audio line in many years.
The Pro Audio niche market has been steadily growing in certain geographical markets such as Florida, New York and California. Pro Audio drivers deliver loud but high sound quality. Often enthusiasts will cram many drivers into a trunk or a door, looking for loud but high sound quality audio.
The line includes a 4-inch bullet tweeter that handles 200 watts RMS which just began shipping. Also new is a 2-inch tweeter, a 6-inch midrange, and mid-bass drivers in 8-, 10- and 12-inch sizes. Prices range from about $40 to $80 MAP for each speaker. The line is just now shipping.
