Rockford Shows New Concept ecoPUNCH

Rockford will display during the Consumer Electronics Show,  its latest concept version of a factory add-on amp/DSP/subwoofer system called the ecoPUNCH.  It also expects to soon announce the commercial availability of the system either as an OEM option or as an aftermarket product (or both).

Rockford Fosgate logoThe system works with the Nissan Juke crossover.  It includes a Punch amplifier that can bypass the factory radio’s amp and deliver music through the car’s factory speakers.  The amp uses digital signal processing so the acoustics are suited to the speakers and the car’s acoustics.   Users may also add subwoofers in 6-, 8- and 10-inch sizes.

The 5-channel amp is rated from 350 to 500 watts.

Shown at last year’s CES, the new version includes an OEM bass controller for the subwoofer.

The ecoPunch will be on display at The Palms Ballroom in Las Vegas during CES week, Jan. 10-13.
