Hammacher Schlemmer Sells Internet Radio Car KitIt’s kit is made by Livio Radio and is actually the Livio “Bluetooth Car Internet Radio Kit,” which went on sale in September stores including Amazon, Crutchfield, Tiger Direct, J&R and Meijer.com.

Livio says “the Kit” will also be available at a national big box retailer later this month.

Hammacher Schlemmer says the $99 “45,000 Station Car Radio” plugs into a car’s 12-volt socket and then connects to an iPhone. In one more step, the iPhone connects via Bluetooth to the car kit. It works with a free app to assign six presets on the kit, making Internet radio a simple affair.

It also recommends radio stations based on the genres you listen to.

But the kit can also work with Pandora, Stitcher or any audio app as well as music stored in your phone. All the music is delivered via the car’s speakers.

“The 45,000 Station Car Radio brings unprecedented access to worldwide radio stations—all without requiring a monthly service fee like satellite radio,” said Hammacher Schlemmer’s General Manager, Fred Berns.

Users also get hands-free calling through the device’s built-in microphone and the car speakers.
