A Deutsche Bank analyst claims Apple is readying two iPhones for the market later this year including an iPhone 4S prepaid phone at $349 (unlocked and unsubsidized).

It will be joined by an iPhone 5.

Analyst Chris Whitmore said, “With Nokia and RIM struggling, the time is right for Apple to aggressively penetrate the mid range smart-phone market (i.e. $300-500 category) to dramatically expand its [total addressable market] and market share,” quoted Fortune.

The market for prepaid phones is small in the U.S., but it is far more popular overseas.

Rumors over the past several months have pointed to a September launch for the next update for the iPhone.  MacObserver notes that another analyst, Morgan Stanley’s Katy Huberty, claims Apple will begin ramping production of a new iPhone in mid- to late August, indicating shipping in September.

The big questions is: Will the iPhone 5 offer 4G?
