Audi released a new iPad app that demonstrates its in-car technology on the new A8, including its sound system and high tech features such as night vision.
The app gives you a virtual test drive of the Audi A8’s Bang & Olufsen 19 speaker sound system and its MMI touch pad that controls the radio and iPod plus other functions. The app also demos the A8’s pedestrian detection and night vision capability.
Audi says a traditional car test drive doesn’t fully demo all the car’s features, hence the new iPad app–now in iTunes or the iPad App Store–which combines “blend of tactile and virtual product experiences.”
The new A8 is the first car to use handwriting recognition on its radio/iPod MMI interface (which also controls other car functions). It also has a rear seat entertainment package with dual 10-inch screens. The luxury sedan goes on sale this month.
