This steering wheel add-on gives you GPS cues through tactile stimulation to turn left or right without needing a screen or audible cues.
It uses two IBM TrackPoint controllers (similar to trackpads for laptops) and nudges your fingers left for a left turn and right for a right turn. The cues come from your GPS system.
The system is being developed at the University of Utah. The technology may even be used to make GPS walking sticks for the blind. Anyone want to bring this to market?
