New “Kindle for the Web”

Amazon introduced a new “Kindle for the Web” feature that can open eBooks directly in your Web browser, so you don’t have to download a special app.

Authors can permit a free first chapter in their eBooks that will open up directly within the reader’s web page. If the reader buys the eBook, the author earns a referral fee.

“Kindle for the Web” also lets users change the font size and share favorite books with friends via Facebook, Twitter and email, without leaving the eBook in the browser.

An example is on the website of author John Miller at www.heymiller.com.
