Garmin introduced 2 new budget priced portable GPS devices, joining the high end Internet-connected nuLink1695, also just announced.

The nuvi 2200 and 2300 series take into consideration traffic patterns in presenting the fastest route. The 2200 series offers 3.5-inch screens and includes a pedestrian mode with city public transportation options. Pricing ranges from $150 to $180.

The 2300 series uses a 4.3-inch display. It includes the model 2360LT with Bluetooth, and like other Garmin models with the “LT” tag, the device provides free traffic alerts for the lifetime of the product. The nuvi 2360LT can also be viewed in either landscape or portrait modes and it displays 3D views of the terrain as you drive along for a more realistic road view. For those who want accurate road mileage and fuel use reports, the 2360 can be used with an optional OBD 11 add-on to deliver an ecoRoute HD feature. Pricing for the 2300 series ranges from $200 to $300.

All of the 2200 and 2300 models deliver spoken street names. Most devices include maps of North America including Mexico and one model, the nuvi 2370LT provides maps of both Europe and North America.
