JBL will deliver 2 new car amps plus a wireless controller this fall. The amps MS-A1004 ($599) and MS-A5001 ($599) including include digital signal processing for precise control and easy set up, and may work with the MS-WBC controller ($49).
Update: There is some confusion on whether these amps are OEM integration devices along the lines of the JBL MS-8. JBL is not quite billing the amps as MS-8 related products. But the amps may easily attach to a factory car sound system or aftermarket radio to provide extra power. Unlike the MS-8, they do not have an “auto tune” feature and they don’t have an aux-in jack to add an iPod or other device.
The MS-A1004 is a 4 x 100 watt full range amp and the MS-A5001 is a 500 watt mono version.
