Clearwire, which operates the largest 4G network, introduced a 4G personal hotspot for Apple i-Pods, -Pads and –Phones. Called the iSpot, it can connect up to 8 WiFi devices to the Internet at an average download speed of 3 to 6 mbps with bursts over over 10 mbps for streaming movies, TV, music, etc. The price is $100 with a service charge of $25 per month (no contract necessary).
The iSpot is similar to the recently launched Clear Spot 4G personal hotspot, but it’s specifically marketed/packaged and appropriately named for the Apple gadget owner. And it’s white instead of black. The iSpot has a battery life of 4-5 hours and its weighs 4.5 ounces.
