The elusive white version of the iPhone 4 will continue to be unavailable until the end of the year.
Apple issued a statement Friday stating, “ White models of Apple’s new iPhone4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.”
The problem is related with the white shell developing a yellowish hue during manufacture, said The Wall Street Journal.
Apple also provided guidelines for getting a free phone case for early buyers of the iPhone 4 (in black, of course).
