Pandora now enjoys 60 million registered listeners leading TechCrunch to declare the Internet radio service “sort of the de-facto new version of radio.”
To give you an idea of Pandora’s growth, it’s up from 50 million users in April and 40 million December, as the iPhone has helped Pandora reach a broader audience. The create-your-own radio service is on track to pass 100 million listeners next year. 100 million is a lot. By comparison, Facebook, the now gold standard for mass social media, has 500 million users.
