HTC EVO 4G Sells Out

The first 4G smartphone—the HTC EVO 4G— is sold out according to Sprint’s website.
The HTC EVO went on sale June 4 offering up to ten times faster data speeds over current 3G phones via Sprint’s 4G service. It also has a large 4.3 inch display, dual cameras, and it can act as a mobile hotspot for up to 8 WiFi devices. Sprint’s website is asking consumers to check back later as it works to replenish supplies. Many of Sprint’s retail stores are either sold out or in short supply, says Brighthand.com.
Indicating the growing clout of HTC in smartphones, the company’s Droid Incredible is also on backorder and Sprint said the EVO’s launch on June 4 set records for the carrier. Sprint said earlier this week, “We are working closely with our partners at HTC to increase the supply and get EVO 4G into the hands of everyone who wants one as quickly as possible,” according to senior VP product development Kevin Packingham.
