2% Download Music to Phone

We don’t like to use our phone for downloading music. Listening, yes; downloading no. Less than 2 percent of phone users in the U.S. and Western Europe downloaded music to their phones in the first quarter although 24 percent listened to music on their phone, said Reuters, citing comScore. Since most phone users are simply loading music they already had on their computer, that may be a problem for new services trying to compete with iTunes (such as Nokia’s Comes With Music, Spotify and Rhapsody America), said Reuters.
In Western Europe, 82 percent of users text message on their phones, 35 percent use apps and 25 percent browse the web on their phones, according to ComScore.
