Garmin is about to ship its first WiFi nuvi portable GPS device. Similar to a mini tablet, the nuvi 295W offers full web browsing and email (with attachments) over WiFi and a 3MP camera with geo-tagging for $279. Users can snap photos and then email them when near a hotspot. Or they can navigate to the photo without inputting an address. The camera has autofocus and the touch screen switches from landscape to portrait. Amazon lists the 295W as available May 16.
Other features: 3.5-inch screen, turn-by-turn navigation with spoken street names, maps of the U.S. and Canada and 6 million points of interest plus Google Local search.
