Nokia, Intel Join Up in Smartphones

Nokia and Intel joined forces at Mobile World Congress this week to create yet another smartphone platform. Called MeeGo, it combines Nokia’s current Maemo OS with Intel’s Moblin, both based on Linux.
MeeGo joins new smartphone platforms from Microsoft and Samsung also announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, as major CE players race to gain a bigger share of the burgeoning smartphone market.
