Samsung Electronics, introduced its new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ with an Infinity Display (near bezel-free design) that extends the screen.
The S8 gives you new face recognition as well as fingerprint recognition, and it has a new personal assistant Bixby, which “knows” your current task on the phone. So if you are looking at a map, you can say “Bixby, capture this” and then send it to a friend. That’s reportedly more than Apple Siri can do.
The S8 phones are also the first to include Bluetooth 5.0.
The phones are available with 5.8-inch (Galaxy S8) and 6.2-inch screens (Galaxy S8+).
They are the industry’s first to use a 10nm chip for processing speed.
They have an advanced 8MP F1.7 Smart autofocus front camera and 12MP F1.7 Dual Pixel rear camera. They are iP68 water and dust resistance, with microSD support of up to 256GB
Pre-orders begin Thursday, March 30 at 12:01 EDT with availability in stores starting April 21.
