Cedar Electronics, which owns the ESCORT, Cobra and Snooper brands, announced the return of 18-year veteran Tim Coomer, who has been named Chief Product Officer of Cedar Electronics.
Coomer left the company in 2016 to become VP and eventually President of Waylens, maker of the innovative Secure360, a 4G dashcam. He returns to lead product and project management at Cedar. He is charged with building a global product strategy and continuing product innovation.
Cedar also announced the promotion of John Kuhn to Chief Technology Officer.
Cedar CEO Gail Babitt said, “Tim’s deep product experience with connected products and SaaS solutions [selling software via online subscription rather than a one-time purchase] combined with John’s technical expertise will help elevate our future roadmap to ensure we enable drivers to be safer and more aware. ”
Coomer said, “I’m a product guy at heart and I look forward to collaborating across teams to drive innovation.”
Kuhn is a 22-year veteran of the company. He will lead engineering and information technology teams in research and development efforts globally. Kuhn previously served as the Vice President of Engineering at Cedar Electronics. Prior to Cedar, Kuhn led R&D teams in the consumer and government electronics industry.
