Kenwood plans to introduce a new electrical assist technology for car stereo systems that is environmentally friendly.

Thanks to the use of wind-powered, low pressure turbulators feeding a side rail, high capacitance energy storage system, the product can provide clean power for large audio systems in electric cars without affecting the range of the car.

At $1,100 suggested retail price, the KWC-1400 will be the first product of its kind.

KenwoodRick Noetzli, General Manager Product R&D Development stated, β€œThe popularity of electric cars will continue to increase and we need to provide a real world solution to the challenges these platforms bring. Green Booost Technology is one of those solutions.”

The KWC-1400 generates and stores energy and supplies it to the amplifiers when they are under high demand situations. The genius of this system is power is supplied to the amplifiers, not the vehicle itself, which isolates the audio system from the vehicle operating system.

Because the amount of energy generated by the KWC-1400 is speed based, the amps can be placed in a mode that increases volume based on speed. At 100MPH it produces enough energy to power a 20 watt amplifier with no help from the battery system.

The hyper-centric wing design is both functional and elegant producing little drag, increased downforce and “stunning looks,” said Kenwood.

Rob Sutton, Director of Sales says: β€œWe feel that the wing cosmetics are a home run, and its likely many electric car owners will purchase it on looks alone. We hope the market sees the potential for a clean sustainable audio experience our children can fondly remember from the rear seat.”

The KWC-1400 will begin shipping in July.

  1. Let’s get real world with this! Who really drives 100mph?!?! My car stalls at anything under 120!!! Plus will it support a 3 20watt amp system at Ludicrous Speed and is it available in neon taupe?!?!

  2. Paul,

Apologies for my failure to be as up to date as I might be. I have been away on a secret mission for the Department of Transportation doing research on the driving habits of people who do not listen to hi-fi while driving. Amazing results coming soon…

Where do I send my remaining stock of phramus pins?

  3. Ray, get up to speed…. Phramus Pins were recalled by Lithuanian Technology Giant Pharphrumtroo due to unsafe levels of lead and plutonium. Contemporaneously, the giant firm is being sued for patent infringement by AFS Kriket.

  4. Great Stuff !!!

I heard that if you add muffler bearings and phramus pins you can improve the gas mileage for electric cars too!!!

  5. Must be misprint who is driving car at 100mph too power a 20 watt amp?? hopefully should be 10mph
