The winner of the Best New Mobile Electronics Product at the SEMA Show this week was App-Tronics for its SmartNav 5.
The awards were presented on the opening day of the SEMA Show Tuesday in Las Vegas.

The SmartNav 5 is a rear view replacement mirror with a large embedded 5-inch capacitive screen with 600 nit brightness so it displays clearly even in sunlight.
It works with a backup camera to show the blind zone behind the car, and it can work with a smartphone to give audible navigation cues and play music.
App-Tronics claims the mirror itself is smaller than most other mirrors and that is the first of its kind that does not “get washed out” in sunlight.
At $279, the unit uses a fast 800MHz processor with high internal memory so that it doesn’t freeze when linking over Bluetooth to the user’s address book.
