Vizualogic has updated its back seat video system that features removable tablets.
The new SmartLogic system now beams video between the removable tablets that dock incustom headrests. So if you have two headrests, each with a tablet, they can share apps like Netflix, or HBO Go or a video on a DVD, USB or SD card.
The tablets in the system have been updated. Both use 7-inch screens with the Deluxe model using a dual core 1GHz processor and a Pro version with a quad core 2GHz processor. They run Android JellyBean 4.2.2 and have an improved screen resolution of 1280 by 800. Battery life is 5 hours.
The headrests/tablet systems are aimed at parents who don’t want to hand over their tablets to the kids in the back seat.
The tablets can run apps from Google Play and Amazon markets, and they conform to automotive grade standards so they can withstand heat and cold (unlike a typical tablet that will shut down in the heat). The SmartLogic tablet docks into the headrests, which charges the units and is integrated and connected into the car stereo system.
The systems are shipping now starting at $1,649.99.
