Rockford Corp. will begin selling Blaunpunkt (through distributors) starting in late Q3 or early Q4 including aftermarket car audio and headphones, and it will also sell product to automotive OEMs on a global scale.

BlaupunktRockford is currently signing up distributors for the line, which will include car radios, navigation, amplifiers, loudspeakers, rear seat entertainment, and connectivity. These will be new products, separate from the Blaupunkt line offered from American Music and Sound earlier in the year.

Distributors who are interested in offering Blaupunkt products should contact Ginny Leff, market development manager, or Dan McLeod, director of sales at Rockford Corporation.

Lars Placke, CEO and managing director of Blaupunkt Group said, “In cooperating with Rockford Corporation, we have found the perfect partner to reestablish our distribution in North America. The partnership on the OEM business segment creates additional synergies for both sides…we will be able to serve our OE customers even better.”

Once the new product begins shipping this fall, Rockford will handle warranties on Blaupunkt product.

Blaupunkt officially left the U.S. market a few years ago and then returned last November under the exclusive distribution of American Music and Sound based in South Haven, Miss.   However, American Music pulled the plug on the venture in May.
