Just like radios from JVC Mobile, BMW and Mini, now Ford radios will control on-demand music of more than 15 million songs through MOG. And Ford also gives you some voice control over the MOG service.
Ford users can state, “Top songs” and they’ll get access to the Top 50 songs according to Billboard’s charts. They can launch MOG via voice and use some other commands including “Play my favorites.”
MOG requires a $10/month subscription and it’s accessed via an iPhone connected to the Ford Radio (using the Sync AppLink).
MOG also lets you create true single artist stations or mix stations of similar artists. What it can’t yet do is call up individual songs by voice.
MOG is now available for many 2012 Ford vehicles including the Fiesta, Fusion, F-150, Super Duty, E-Series, Mustang and Expedition.
“MOG offers a great mobile app experience, and now – using SYNC AppLink – we’ve enhanced it even further for in-car use by adding voice command and control,” says John Ellis, global technologist for Ford Connected Services. “And, thanks to the 320 kilo bits per second streaming quality unique to MOG, users will still get the high audio resolution they expect when listening to their favorite music.”
Ford customers can sign up for MOG here.
