Viper, the remote starter and security brand, has invented a new wearable antenna that can double the range of traditional keyfob-based remote start and security products.

Viper has created a nano-technology band aid, warn on the user’s chin, that acts as a second transmitter to extend the range of the product.  The user holds up his keyfob against the band aid to achieve two or three times the standard distance to remote start the car (or check the security system or unlock the doors).

Viper calls the advance, “the biggest thing since the BlackBerry Playbook.”

Named the Viper Mantenna,  the product will be launched later this year exclusively in mobile electronics stores and premium fashion retailers.   “We think the Mantenna is going to be a huge hit, and we have plans to extend the line in a range of fashion colors, and ultimately a Dr. Dre edition,” said a spokesman.

According to a new patent filing, Viper deploys “nano-circuitry in a highly compact and flexible form factor, combined with amplifier and antenna technology to significantly boost the signal strength of the keyfob using the inherent transmitting potential found in our bodies.”
