JL Audio will ship this quarter a replacement for one of its best selling car audio amps—the monoblock JX500/1. The amp is now converted to a Class D amp from Class AB for a 43 percent reduction in its size.
The JX500/1 has a power output of 300 watts @ 4 ohms, 400 watts @ 3 ohms or 500 watts @ 2 ohms. Frequency response is 10 – 150Hz (+0, -1dB).
The amp, first shown at CES last month, measures approximately 7.7 by 7.8 inches and 2 inches high. Suggested retail price is $329.
