Those waiting for the new version of Apple iPad will have to hold out even longer. Apple is delaying the launch of the iPad 2 from April until June, due to problems in production at Tawain’s Hon Hai facility.
Reuters sites a report by Taiwanese brokerage Yunta Securities, claiming that “issues,” in production are taking some time to resolve.
A delay til June would result in a sizable reduction in iPad sales this year. Yunta predicts volume would drop to 23 million units from its earlier forecast of 30.6 million units.
The new iPad is expected to offer front and rear cameras with a slimmer form factor and a better display.
