New XM Snap! from Sirius XM

Sirius XM introduced a new in-car $60 XM receiver called the XM Snap!

The stalk-plus-radio plugs into the cigarette lighter creating a one-piece XM tuner with controls and a screen. It works with any existing car radio to bring in satellite radio through the car’s audio system. The only wire showing in the self-installable unit is for the magnetic antenna.

The Snap! connects to the radio via FM modulator through Sirius XM’s PowerConnect technology. It also comes with an aux-in cable.

The stalk is fully adjustable. Controls include a rotary knob for changing channels. The Snap! will ship to retailers in October and will also be available at www.shop.xmradio.com.

TWICE magazine is reporting that a second Sirius XM product is also due in November. It’s a $130 tablet top speaker dock for Dock and Play radios, and the first dock to work with both Sirius tuners and XM tuners (instead of one or the other).
