Rydeen Mobile announced a new replacement rear view mirror with a built-in dashcam that is always on. The mirror also includes navigation and rear camera capability.
The new MN450S is thinner than the earlier Rydeen smart mirrors and it now has a 4.3 inch monitor embedded in the main mirror (rather than in a separate compartment in the mirror for a sleeker look).
The embedded monitor also now gets a capacitive screen for better touch control.
It includes an 800 by 400 pixel resolution screen and support for a 32GB micro SD card and Bluetooth as well as auto-dimming. Its built in speaker announces turn by turn directions provided by Sygic.
The DVR can record in 1080p and includes a G sensor that activates when the car is in an incident.
It will ship in early January at $499 suggested retail price.
Rydeen also introduced a CM-APL camera with movable parking guidelines. The lines maintain their color even in full dark The camera incorporates a ring of white LEDs for night illumination. Suggested retail price is $168.
The camera is joined by a new HD camera with 600 lines of resolution. The model CM-DH2 also has a suggested retail price of $168.
All products will be on view at CES in January.
