NAV-TV Ford backup camera interface

NAV-TV announced the release of the FORD-UNI-CAM a solution for integrating an aftermarket backup camera in all current Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with the factory 4-inch full color LCD display.

No dealership coding is required. The unit is fully plug-and-play and will not affect the vehicle electrical warranty. It also provides two 12 volt+ outputs to power the aftermarket cameras (sold separately).

The UNI-CAM automatically displays the backup camera image on the factory screen when the vehicle is placed in reverse. The image can be “forced on” and viewed in any gear. Also, the additional included video input can be activated in any gear for optional equipment such as a front view camera, FLIR night vision, side view and 360 degree view camera systems, game consoles or any other external video source with a composite video output.

The FORD-UNI-CAM joins the NAV-TV MYFORD-TOUCH CAM and MYFORD-TOUCH CAM2 interfaces to cover the full Ford and Lincoln line.

The FORD-UNI-CAM is shipping now at a suggested retail price of $299. It is compatible with the following vehicles with the factory full color LCD display:

2011 and up Ford Edge

2011 and up Ford Explorer

2011 and up Lincoln MKX

2012 and up Ford Focus

2013 and up Ford F-Series Trucks

  1. I know for a fact that this kit cannot work with some displays. There are some 4.2″ display builds (yes the Ford displays are actually 4.2″ not 4″) that do not have the electronics on their circuit boards to process the camera video. The screen will program for camera but will only show “camera not available” when put in reverse.
None of the interfaces available from any manufacturer will work with all 4″ displays for this reason.
