Addictive Audio announced a new line of ultra mini car audio amplifiers that can fit in the palm of your hand. They may also be used as smartphone amplifiers to listen to music without the need for a head unit.
The amps include “intelligent” 3.5mm signal input circuitry so you can plug in a smartphone. They also work with a small add-on Bluetooth device to make them capable of music streaming.
The first two models to ship are a mono F300.1 and a 4-channel F300.4 The latter, 4-channel amp measures about 4 by 8 by 1.5 inches and is rated at 75 watts RMS by 4 at 4 ohms at 13.8 volts with an efficiency of 88 percent and 0.03 percent THD with a signal to noise ratio of greater than 110dB. It is available at $269.99 suggested retail price.
The mono amp at 300 watts RMS by 1 has an efficiency of 88 percent with THD of 0.05 percent and a signal to noise ratio of greater than 110dB. It measures about 4 by 6 by 1/5 inches and includes a bass knob at $259.99.
The amplifiers use a heat sink that allows the MOSFETs to keep 100 percent surface contact, even with vibration for better efficiency and heat dissipation.
