MB Quart will ship in late Spring its first entry into personal audio– a line of 4 Bluetooth audio speakers called “QUB,” that focus on quality sound.
The company said it avoided shortcuts like digital sound processing, instead opting for use of passive radiators to extend bass and custom tooled neodymium drivers.
“We didn’t want to color the sound with digital processing. We chose real musical reproduction,” said Alden Stiefel, President and CEO of Maxxsonics USA, MB Quart parent. He said the company took a “no tricks” approach to better sound quality in a market place that is overrun with “me too” products.
Power output on the line ranges from 12 to 4 watts.
QUB uses a Bluetooth 4.0 connection, and can pair with two devices at a time for those who own a tablet and smartphone.
It can be used as a conference speaker with built in noise canceling.
The top-of-the-line is the larger, QUB Four with a 12 watt amplifier and a 12 hour battery run time at $199.99. The smallest, cube speaker with 4 watt output will have a $59 suggested retail price. Sizes run as follows:
QUBFour – 85 x 160 x 75 (mm)
QUBThree – 60 x 165 x 67 (mm) (pictured above)
QUBTwo – 62 x 110 x 72 (mm)
QUBOne – 60 x 60 x 59 (mm)
MB Quart launched a new web page that allows consumers to pre-order the QUB at a discount.
