Samsung and Sony plan to steal some thunder from Apple, which is expected to launch new iPhones on September 10.

Samsung is expected to introduce its first Android wristwatch-style device on Sept. 4. Called the Galaxy Gear, it lets you surf the web and make calls.  You also control email from the watch, reported Bloomberg this month.

Also expected from Samsung is the Note 3 smartphone, the next generation of its popular touch screen phone also lets you use a stylus for note taking, drawing and other features.

Sept. 4 will be a busy day, as Sony is also expected to debut the next generation Xperia smartphone that will include Sony technology for cameras and high def TVs, said Bloomberg.

Apple is rumored to introduce the following week an iPhone 5S and lower cost 5C.  The 5S is rumored to include a fingerprint scanner and a new gold color option, plus a better camera, says BGR.com.  The 5C is expected to be a plastic, feature-trimmed version of the phone, offered in 5 colors.
