NAV-TV Steer Blue

NAV-TV at the KnowledgeFest tradeshow, unveiled a new kit to connect a tablet or phone to a car ‘s sound system via the steering wheel controls.

It delivers your music, etc. through the car’s sound system without the need for a radio, and with steering wheel control.

In the case of an iPad, the kit also permits full Siri voice control over the tablet so that you can ask for directions or to change music or to hear your text messages, play Pandora and other functions.

Called Steer Blue, the module lets steering wheel controls handle track up/down, volume and play and pause.  It must be combined with one of the leading  steering wheel interface kits such as several from PAC, or the Metra ASWC or the iDataLink Maestro SW.

The tablet interface then connects to the tablet wirelessly over Bluetooth.

The Steer Blue is expected to ship in September at $299.  It is on display at the MERA KnoweldgeFest trade show in Dallas September 17-20 at booth Booth 609A .
